What the “see more” cut means for your hook

The first ~210 characters are the only part of your post that appears in feeds without a click. Everything after is hidden until someone taps “see more”. Most posts die in that 210-character window. Use it deliberately:

  • Open with the strongest line. Not the warmup, not the framing. The line you'd say if you only had one breath.
  • Avoid “I’m thrilled to share”. It burns the entire above-the-fold real estate on a phrase everyone scrolls past.
  • Two short paragraphs beat one long one.The white space draws the eye down. A wall of text invisibly says “skip me.”
  • Pose the question, hold the answer. If your hook resolves the topic before “see more”, nobody clicks.
