Connecting your LinkedIn account
Postbrander uses LinkedIn's official OAuth flow. No passwords are shared with us, and you can remove the connection at any time from Settings.
Steps
- 1
Open Settings → Connections
From your Postbrander dashboard, click the settings icon and open the Connections tab.
- 2
Click Connect LinkedIn
This launches the official LinkedIn OAuth flow in a new tab.
- 3
Sign in to LinkedIn
If you are not already signed in, enter your LinkedIn credentials. Postbrander never sees your password, LinkedIn handles the login.
- 4
Review and approve permissions
LinkedIn shows you exactly which permissions Postbrander requests: read your profile, publish posts on your behalf, and read post analytics. Approve to continue.
- 5
Return to Postbrander
You are redirected back to Postbrander with the connection active. You can now publish through the tool.
What permissions Postbrander uses
The LinkedIn OAuth screen lists three permissions: read basic profile data, publish posts on your behalf, and read analytics on posts you publish. These are the official LinkedIn scopes for third-party social tools and are the same set used by Hootsuite and Buffer.
Postbrander does not request DM access, connection list access, messaging, or any scope we do not need.
Security of your connection
LinkedIn tokens are stored encrypted using AES-256-GCM. Only the specific cron job that publishes your scheduled posts decrypts them at publish time. Your tokens are never logged, never exposed to other users, and never shared with any third party.
Removing the connection
In Settings → Connections, click Disconnect next to your account. This deletes the token immediately. You can also revoke access from LinkedIn's end at linkedin.com → Settings → Third-party apps.
Company pages (coming soon)
Postbrander currently publishes to personal LinkedIn profiles. Company page publishing requires a separate LinkedIn API approval (Community Management API) which is in review. Once approved we'll roll it out to Basic plan users automatically. Existing accounts won't need to do anything.
