Troubleshooting common issues

The problems we see most often and how to fix them. If none of these help, email james@seoburf.com and we will dig in.

Generation failed or timed out

Most often a transient Anthropic API issue. Click Regenerate. If it fails twice in a row, check the status page at status.anthropic.com. Research mode occasionally fails when a search query returns no results — switch to Standard mode for that draft.

LinkedIn connection shows Reconnect banner

LinkedIn OAuth tokens expire after 60 days. Click Reconnect in Settings → Connections and approve the permissions again. This takes 30 seconds and does not affect your scheduled posts.

A scheduled post did not publish

Check the Failed posts list in your dashboard — we record the exact LinkedIn error message there. Most often this is an expired token (reconnect and reschedule) or a rare content rejection (edit and try again).

Analytics are missing or zero

LinkedIn's analytics API returns data with a delay. Postbrander fetches at 1 hour, 24 hours, and 7 days after publishing. If numbers still show zero after 24 hours, the post may have been published but then deleted on LinkedIn. Check your LinkedIn profile to confirm.

Voice profile is not matching my style

Add another example post — one that is rougher or more conversational than your current examples. Sharpen the tone description to use concrete adjectives (dry, clipped, warm) rather than vague ones (professional, engaging). Edit a few generated drafts before publishing — those edits improve voice over time.

Carousel PDF looks wrong

Regenerate the layout — sometimes the text-to-slide balance is off on the first pass. If a slide has text overflow, shorten that slide's body copy in the preview editor.
